We planned a 5 day hunt in Sonoma County. On opening morning, 7.20 AM, Gerry got this great tom, over 20 pounds. I was about 1/2 a mile away and when she called on the walkie talkie to say she got her bird, I was thrilled, however didn't hear the shot. Five days later, we had decided to call it a trip at 11.00 AM. I shot my bird at 10.45 AM. She was calling this bird for 45 minutes from a beginning of about 3/8ths of a mile away right up to the closest approach of 8 feet. First time ever we've doubled on the same trip after 13 years of hunting there. Happy campers ????? You betcha, as they say in Minnesota.
